Amy Young Former Dancer with the Paul Taylor Dance Company in New York City is Choreographing on Queen Anne’s County Dancers

Amy (Young) Kleinendorst was a former professional dancer for 17 years with the Paul Taylor Dance Company in New York City. She is currently choreographing on the Queen Anne’s County High School (QACHS) dancers. The Carole Cascio Fund is supporting Amy’s choreographic residency at QACHS this Fall and at Kent Island High Schools (KIHS) in the Spring of 2025.

Amy started on September 19th at QACHS with dance teacher Kristen Tyler’s dance company members creating a new dance based on the style and moving qualities of the famous choreographer Paul Taylor. Amy’s residency will span the fall semester visiting QACHS once a week over 10 to 12 rehearsal sessions during the school day.

Amy will also be working with the Kent Island Dance Company Dancers in the spring of 2025. Amy is creating a new merge dance project that both high school programs will perform together on each other’s spring dance concerts. Amy will spend the spring residency at KIHS once a week over 10 to 12 rehearsal sessions to create a new dance for the dancers at KIHS.

Amy (Young) Kleinendorst began her dance training at the age of ten in her hometown near Seattle, Washington. After graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, she went on to receive a BFA from The Juilliard School. Ms. Kleinendorst joined Taylor 2 soon after and made her debut as a member of the Paul Taylor Dance Company at the Paris Opera House in January of 2000. She is also a founding member of TAKE Dance Company (2004-2010). Throughout her 17 year career, Ms.Kleinendorst taught master classes, residencies, intensives and workshops all over the world and continues to do so.

Since retiring from the stage in 2013, she has also begun to share Paul’s work by setting his pieces at St. Paul’s School, Interlochen Arts Academy, The Citadel Dance and Music Center, Boston Conservatory, University of Wyoming, University of Arizona, and Point Park University. She has been on faculty at The Taylor School in NYC where she taught weekly youth classes as well as professional level classes. Amy and her husband Robert, a fellow Paul Taylor Dancer moved to Severna Park in 2021. Amy is currently an adjunct professor at Towson University and teaches weekly classes at the Severna Park Community Center.

Wye Mills, Sunday, May 3rd At the Todd Performing Arts Center (TPAC) at Chesapeake College, the Carole Carole Cascio Fund and TPAC Director, Rob Thompson, hosted a cultural enriching free performance, a World Day of Dance. The World Day of Dance featured Guest Artists and Directors, Deepti Mukund from Natyaboohmi School of Dance, Rose Xinran Qi from RoseQi Dance Arts, and Sylvia Soumah from Coyaba Dance Theater.The scholarship ensures that future generations of CCBC Dance Company members have access to the necessary training, artistic development, and performance opportunities they need to thrive. Since its inception, one to two Dance Company members have been selected each year to receive the scholarship.

Carole Cascio Fund Donates $2,000 to Bolster CCBC’s Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship and CCF Teaching Artists are featured on the CCBC Dance Concert

Essex, May 1 2026 The Carole Cascio Fund (CCF) recently announced a donation of $2,000 to the Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship fund at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). This contribution continues the CCF’s commitment to the scholarship, which the Carole Cascio Fund and the CCBC Foundation jointly established. The original Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship was created in March 2023 with an initial $10,000 donation.
The scholarship ensures that future generations of CCBC Dance Company members have access to the necessary training, artistic development, and performance opportunities they need to thrive. Since its inception, one to two Dance Company members have been selected each year to receive the scholarship.

April 27 2026 Stevensville – The Carole Cascio Fund (CCF) proudly sponsored a successful choreographic residency at Kent Island High School (KIHS), led by Guest Teaching Artist Sylvia Soumah, Founder and Artistic Director of Coyaba Dance Theatre.
