The performance drew a large audience, providing a vital opportunity for local students, dance enthusiasts, and community members to witness the power of professional contemporary dance. Three company members from the Ailey II arrived early to teach a masterclass of Alvin Ailey technique to 50 students from the local community. It was an amazing opportunity for students to experience the Ailey technique directly from the company dancers.
After the Open Rehearsal, Francesca Harper, the Artistic Director of Ailey II moderated a Q and a session with 11 company dancers. They engaged in a lively and fun Q&A session with over 200 audience members who attended the free performance.
