Executive Director Peter Pucci had been reaching out to many of his contacts in New York City (NYC) to see if any of his colleagues in the field had a used dance floor for sale. His old friend Greg Stuart, who is the company manager for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (AAADT) looked into it and apparently they did have a used floor.
Greg graciously arranged for the floor to be donated to CCF. All that was needed was for someone to pick up the floor at the Ailey warehouse in New Jersey and load it into an SUV.
On Feb 19,2025 Peter arrived at Queen Anne’s County High School(QACHS) from New Jersey with a used gray dance floor.
Joe Gaito the Technical Director for AAADT instructed Peter on how to properly clean the floor before using it. With the help of Tim Robinson, the lead janitor at QACHS, CCF Assistant Teaching Artist Gabby Pfeifer, Dance Teacher Kristen Tyler and her son Sam along with dancer Savanna Vega they set about cleaning and preparing the floor. By the end of the day the dance floor looked brand new and was ready for CCF’s 6th Day of Dance on Saturday, February 22 at John F. Andrews Performing Art Center at QACHS.
