Yoav Kaddar PhD, MFA Dr. Kaddar is the Director of Dance at West Virginia University and the founder and director of the WVU Summer Dance Academy. He received his degrees from The Juilliard School (BFA), UW Seattle (MFA), U at Albany NY (PhD). He performed with the Jose Limon Dance Company, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Jacob’s Pillow’s Men Dancers, Peter Pucci Plus Dancers, among others. He has choreographed over 70 works for dance and theater. His teaching and choreography consist of both national and international appointments. His work has been performed nationally and abroad at such venues as the Smithsonian Museum of Art in Washington DC and in Ottawa, Canada, in Israel, Germany, and Argentina. His tribute piece, Standing Tall, is part of the permanent archives at the National 9/11 Museum in New York City. Dr. Kaddar is the recipient of the Martha Hill Award for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in Dance from the Juilliard School and is a Fulbright Scholar. He is a founding member and the president of the WV Dance Education Organization. He has been invited to serve on the New York Foundation of the Arts Choreography Panel and the National Society of Arts and Letters dance competition. He is a past president of the National Dance Education Organization, served on the board of directors of the American College Dance Association, and as a member of the US Student Fulbright National Screening Committee on the Arts. Dr. Kaddar is a recipient of various awards, including the Martha Hill Award for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership in Dance from the Juilliard School.
