CCF Intern Gabby Pfeifer had a very busy fall teaching, choreographing, and assisting in classes in the Queen Anne’s County Public Schools and will teach for the Partnering For Youth after-school program this Spring.

CCF Intern Gabby Pfeifer had a very productive fall season advocating for and facilitating various CCF events. One of her first assignments was working closely with Kevin Regan, Director of Drama at Kent Island High School (KIHS) and Director of the upcoming musical Frozen. Mr. Regan was pleased to have Gabby, a former KIHS Allstate Dancer, choreograph several numbers and collaborate with student choreographers to create movement for the musical.

Gabby also assisted Executive Director Peter Pucci and CCF Teaching Artist Adrienne Kraus Latanishen when CCF supported three master classes at Queen Anne’s County High School (QACHS). Luke Whitehair, the chorus teacher at QACHS, requested two movement classes for chorus students, which Peter taught. Additionally, Adrienne taught a hip-hop class to a combined group of QACHS and Centreville Middle School students.

Subsequently, Gabby assisted Amy Young during the creation of her new work for QACHS dancers. Gabby participated in all of Amy’s rehearsals, demonstrating movement, mentoring, and helping the dancers with the challenging movement phrases Amy created. CCF also supported Gabby in re-creating one of her dances, Inner Chaos, for the QACHS dancers. Later in the fall, the dance was selected for performance by the QACHS dancers at the 35th Maryland Public High School Dance Showcase. It was a prestigious honor for QACHS to be chosen; it was the first time one of their submitted dances was selected for performance and the first time a QACHS dancer, Catrina Gromley, was chosen to be a Maryland Allstate Dancer.

Additionally, Gabby assisted Adrienne in numerous Hip Hop classes for the Partnering For Youth (PFY) after-school program in the QAC Middle Schools.

This spring, CCF and Giving the Edge Foundation in Stevensville will co-sponsor Gabby’s Move and Groove dance classes for the PFY program for nine weeks at all four middle schools in the QACPS system.
