Baltimore, MD – In a powerful demonstration of the Carole Cascio Fund’s commitment to dance education, Executive Director Peter Pucci recently led a modern partnering masterclass for 40 dance students at the Baltimore School for the Arts.
Pucci, a former principal dancer with the renowned Pilobolus Dance Theater, drew on his extensive background to guide students through dynamic and collaborative movement. Iris Anderson, the Director of the Dance program at BSA worked closely with Pucci to coordinate the masterclass.
As the Executive Director of the Carole Cascio Fund for Mind Movement Dance Connections, Pucci frequently conducts master classes and workshops in the Maryland community. His classes often focus on “Pilobolus style partnering,” which emphasizes weight sharing, counter-balance, and collaborative improvisation between dancers.
The workshop provided a unique opportunity for aspiring dancers to explore the fundamentals of safe and expressive partnering, a critical skill in modern dance.
The dancers had a wonderful and fun collaborative time working on the partnering exercises with Pucci. The visit is part of the Carole Cascio Fund’s ongoing mission to support developing artistry in young people through choreography and dance opportunities in the region.
