Gabby Pfeifer, former Maryland All State Dancer at Kent Island High School and a recent graduate of Slippery Rock University joins the Carole Cascio Fund

Executive Director, Peter Pucci and Trustee Ann Goodman welcome Gabby Pfeifer as our first CCF Intern. Gabby will be working locally to advocate for the Fund and dance in the community.

Gabby will start by working with Kevin Reagan, Director of Drama at Kent Island High School and director of the upcoming production of Frozen at the school. She will create some new choreography and mentor student choreographers on the production. Gabby will be visiting KIHS twice a week through November 21. 

Gabby will also be working at Queen Annes County High School(QACHS) with Kristen Tyler Dance Teacher and Fine Arts Department Coordinator at the school. She will be re-creating a piece of her choreography for dancers for the QACHS Dance Company. Gabby will be working with the dancers on a weekly basis through November 14.

Gabby Pfeifer was raised in Kent Island and started dancing when she was three years old. Following the same footsteps as her mother, she studied for over 10 years at the Dashiell School of Dancing with Wally Dashiell in Stevensville.. She continued to dance throughout high school as the Kent Island Director Varsity Dance Team Captain, she was also a 2020 All-State Maryland Dancer as a member/choreographer of the Kent Island High School Dance Company and the Anne Arundel Community College Dance Company. She recently graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BFA in Dance with concentrations in Performance & Choreography and Business Administration. She strived to continue learning and growing as a dancer at Slippery Rock and joined the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). She was given the opportunity to increase her leadership skills as President of NHSDA in her junior and senior year. NHSDA allowed Gabby to plan and organize fundraising events throughout the year in support of the Department of Dance. She also has a Teaching Certification for Yoga. Gabby is friendly, pro-active, responsible, and adapts to any challenges that come her way. She is thrilled to be back on the Eastern Shore and start helping the next generation of young artists in her community.

A Free Performance Celebrating Dance and Culture, CCF’s World Day of Dance featuring Guest Artists Deepti Mukund, Rose Xinran Qi and Sylvia Soumah at the Todd Performing Arts Center at Chesapeake College.

Wye Mills, Sunday, May 3rd At the Todd Performing Arts Center (TPAC) at Chesapeake College, the Carole Carole Cascio Fund and TPAC Director, Rob Thompson, hosted a cultural enriching free performance, a World Day of Dance. The World Day of Dance featured Guest Artists and Directors, Deepti Mukund from Natyaboohmi School of Dance, Rose Xinran Qi from RoseQi Dance Arts, and Sylvia Soumah from Coyaba Dance Theater.The scholarship ensures that future generations of CCBC Dance Company members have access to the necessary training, artistic development, and performance opportunities they need to thrive. Since its inception, one to two Dance Company members have been selected each year to receive the scholarship.

Carole Cascio Fund Donates $2,000 to Bolster CCBC’s Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship and CCF Teaching Artists are featured on the CCBC Dance Concert

Essex, May 1 2026 The Carole Cascio Fund (CCF) recently announced a donation of $2,000 to the Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship fund at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). This contribution continues the CCF’s commitment to the scholarship, which the Carole Cascio Fund and the CCBC Foundation jointly established. The original Carole Drake Cascio Dance Scholarship was created in March 2023 with an initial $10,000 donation.
The scholarship ensures that future generations of CCBC Dance Company members have access to the necessary training, artistic development, and performance opportunities they need to thrive. Since its inception, one to two Dance Company members have been selected each year to receive the scholarship.

CCF Guest Teaching Artist Sylvia Soumah Completes West African Choreographic Residency at Kent Island High School

April 27 2026 Stevensville – The Carole Cascio Fund (CCF) proudly sponsored a successful choreographic residency at Kent Island High School (KIHS), led by Guest Teaching Artist Sylvia Soumah, Founder and Artistic Director of Coyaba Dance Theatre.
