CCF Movement workshop for Queen Anne’s Public School Teachers

CCF Teaching Artist Adrienne Kraus Latanishen taught a movement workshop for 45 public school teachers from QAC at their Professional Development day at the invitation of Michael Bell, Supervisor for Curriculum for QAC.

Adrienne got all the teachers up and moving and they enjoyed a fun movement class that was lively with a lot of laughs. It was an ability-appropriate movement class for a variety of teachers from dance, to art, to science, to math and chorus, to mention a few.

Executive Director, Peter Pucci, also attended the professional development day to meet with the high school dance teachers, Amber Wright from Kent Island and Kristen Tyler from Queen Anne’s County. It was a very productive meeting with the teachers.

One idea that was discussed was having the CCF bring in some type of a cultural dance for their students to experience. Peter suggested bringing in a far east traditional Indian Dance teacher. Also discussed were the details and dates for students from both high schools to attend a dance workshop with a New York City guest choreographer at CCBC Essex Campus and the CCBC dance company’s performance in November.

The CCF graciously provided lunch for all of the teachers and supervisors to support the wonderful work they do for the QAC students!
