QACHS & KIHS travel to CCBC for a Dance Concert

On May 4, 2023 the Carol Drake Cascio Fund For Mind Movement Dance Connections (CCF) provided transportation for 48 dance and theater students from Queen Annes County High School (QACHS) and Kent Island High School (KIHS). The students were able to see a Dance Concert by the CCBC Dance Company on the Essex campus of the Community College of Baltimore County. Dance teacher Kristen Tyler and Theater teacher Megan Murphy from QACHS, along with Dance teacher Amber Wright from KIHS, accompanied their students.

CCF Executive Director Peter Pucci and Melinda Blomquist, Director of the Dance Program at CCBC greeted the students at the F. Scott Black Theatre. The concert featured work by CCBC faculty, alumni and guest artist Nathaniel Hunt, Alice Howes Adrienne Kraus Latanishen and Peter Pucci. All of the dances presented on the concert were new creations for the CCBC Dance Company.

The dances were all very different and each came from the unique viewpoint of the choreographer. The students enjoyed the program and had a great time. They were also able to participate in a post-performance question and answer session with the CCBC dancers moderated by Artistic Director Melinda Blomquist.
