This year’s ESAF Day of Dance featured seven different local groups. The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) was represented by alumni guest artists Anastasia McKenzie and Maegan Read from the CCBC Dance Company. They presented CCF Teaching Artist Adrienne Kraus Latanishen’s duet, Beyond Reach.
The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) was represented by three dancers: Bella Brown, Lee Dugan, and Elizabeth Humeston. They presented two dances: Avoidant, choreographed by Cassidy Cipolla Milchak, and Racing Time, choreographed by Elizabeth Humeston. Queen Anne’s County High School, under the direction of Kristen Tyler presented three works all choreographed by CCF Teaching Artists. Adrienne Kraus Latanishen’s Ping-Pong Pinball Free For All, Amy Young-Kleinendorst Here There and Gabby Pfeifer’s Inner Chaos were all performed by the dancers of the QACHS Dance Company.
Three local dance studios also performed, Mid Shore Dance Academy, directed by Shari Smigo from Centreville, presented Echo, choreographed by Kendall Chaires. To The Pointe Dance Studio, directed by Breanne Garland from Ridgely, presented Movement, choreographed by Rorie Garland. New Motions Dance Center, directed by Jenna Baker from Grasonville, presented Still Not Enough by Jenna Baker.
Our CCF Associate Teaching Artist Gabby Pfeifer performed Paul Taylor’s Company B solo, which was restaged by former Paul Taylor dancer and our CCF Teaching Artist Amy Young-Kleinendorst. Executive Director Peter Pucci also contributed a new solo called Gotta Get Gone

The dancers performed beautifully with great passion and hard work. It was a wonderful opportunity for the various groups to share their work and to perform locally.
All the dancers delivered enthusiastic and spirited performances, which were truly delightful. Some of the choreography was shared with the public for the first time in front of a live audience, providing a valuable opportunity for dancers and choreographers to share new and existing work with an appreciative audience of all ages.
CCF’s 3rd Day of Dance, in collaboration with the Eastern Shore Arts Festival, was well-attended and highly successful.
