Feb 5, 2025 Centreville, MD – For the first time in school history, Queen Anne’s County High School (QACHS) had a dance selected for the prestigious All-State Maryland State Dance Showcase (MSDS) performance, which was held at Goucher College on January 10, 2025. On January 10, 2025, over 500 dancers from across Maryland gathered at Goucher College in Baltimore for the 35th Annual Maryland Public High School Dance Showcase (MPHSDS). In August Carole Cascio Fund’s (CCF) Teaching Artist Adrienne Kraus Latanishen started her third year working for CCF visiting with Queen Annes County Public School (QACPS) teachers at their Personal Development day. In collaboration with Michael Bell, the Supervisor for Instruction for QCAPS, Adrienne represented CCF and discussed many dance possibilities and opportunities for the CCF to support free dance and movement classes in QAC high schools and middle schools. CCF Intern Gabby Pfeifer had a very productive fall season advocating for and facilitating various CCF events. One of her first assignments was working closely with Kevin Regan, Director of Drama at Kent Island High School (KIHS) and Director of the upcoming musical Frozen. On November 2, 2024, the Carole Cascio Fund held its first-ever World Day of Dance at the Todd Performing Arts Center (TPAC) at Chesapeake College.
